We had an amazing week in the Maison de la Campagne gite at Le Farat. The gite itself was so charming, very clean, extremely well appointed and tastefully done out. The setting was to die for! It was completely separate from the main house which meant it was very private and the view over the fields and lake was idyllic. We had our two year old with us and Allison couldn’t have done more to provide us with everything we needed with offers of potties, highchairs cots etc. She also babysat for us which meant we were able to enjoy a night out at the amazing Auberge restaurant in Bardigues. I am normally a bit jittery about leaving my young son with people I don’t know but I immediately liked and trusted Allison who is also a mother of 2 herself. I would say this is one of the most beautiful idyllic and relaxed places we’ve ever stayed in Europe and can’t recommend it highly enough.

Our third visit and we’ve already booked No4. This is the place to stay.  I don’t know of a better Gite in France. The location is perfect, the setting is gorgeous.

We stayed for a week in the B&B and had a wonderful holiday. The location is beautiful, with fabulous views of the lake from the B&B’s own garden. A lovely place to have lunch or a glass of wine in the evening. The 3 rooms were huge, spotless and beautifully presented. Allison and Nick were kind and welcoming hosts and gave lots of advice about where to visit in the local area. The breakfast each morning was delicious and included a range of home-made jams and fruit juice along with a selection of local meats, cheeses and croissants. Allison even included chocolate brioche and a home-made fruit bar for our daughter. The pool was a great place to spend a few hours in the afternoon. I would thoroughly recommend Le Farat.

We chose Le Farat because of the stellar reviews, but, as skeptical New Yorkers, braced ourselves for disappointment. We are pleased to report that it far surpassed even the most glowing of reviews. Beautiful rooms in a beautiful countryside, warm, generous service, delightful owners, lovely breakfasts, great pool, fun trampoline, stunning, picturesque villages nearby. Wish we could have stayed forever. Perfect, perfect, perfect!

We stayed in Le Farat Bed & Breakfast last October. Sorry for the delay in doing the Review! We also do B&B and have just finished a busy season.Surprised is too delicate a word to describe how we felt when we arrived and saw the magnificent house and garden and views for miles around. Our en suite was bigger than most…

We had our first ‘family’ holiday here and it was wonderful. Our Gite was so thoughtfully and beautifully appointed that it felt like total luxury. Alison and Nick were helpful in every way possible and really took care of us. I celebrated a big birthday here and I cannot think of a more delightful or memorable spot. The region has loads to offer but simply eating outside the property or having a late evening glass of wine was a treat. We hardly moved all week and finished our stay rested and relaxed. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
